I never wanted to rob the store
It’s just that I need some money now
I don’t have a drug or alcohol problem
But I’ve got a problem with the economy
What can I say, I’m not so lucky
I wasn’t born and fed by a silver spoon
I didn’t want any trouble you see
I just needed some help with a little money
            When will it end?
Uncle Sam is dragging us down
Taking a quarter of all we make
Feeding his own with a silver spoon
A black hole is opened and our money is gone
How much is Uncle Sam paying in taxes
From what I’ve heard he’s living on welfare
He’s got no money to pay his bills and rent
So he orders some more tax dollars to be sent
Suppress us with your economic science
              Of stealing from the people
            Poverty
              Poor white trash
              Economic scheme
              Creating low self esteem
            There’s always gonna be drugs
              There’s always gonna be guns
              There’s always gonna be gangs
We’re always gonna have the dumb
But maybe we can erase some hate
By boosting workers moral and hope
By taxing our greedy Uncle Sam
And making him choke down a taste of his own
Suppress us with your economic science
              Of stealing from the people
Cuff us with your long arm of the law
            Poverty
              Poor white trash
              Economic scheme
              Creating low self esteem
Work on a better system of worth
It cant be any worse than it is right now
            We need relief
              From the pressure
We need to be truly free
              From this oppression we live……now
            Free us from this oppression
Before it becomes our dying obsession
              Now
              Free us from this digression
              And release our underlying tension
