Value vs. Apathy and Indifference

I try to live my life with tolerance, empathy, sympathy, compassion and objectivity. This is where I stand with myself and I'm working consciously, every day to stifle tendencies of prejudice, indoctrination, ignorance, unnecessary ego, etc. I truly believe these qualities are what people need to live more peacefully together.

I would like to bring forward a great hypocrisy of life. The veritable chicken and the egg is this:

If you live with tolerance and objectivity, then, by your own rule, you cannot spread your belief with any vigor because you become a criminal of your own cause. Though I believe greatly in these values, ultimately, taken to their extreme, they produce apathy and indifference, which I believe to be a crime as we should be thinking about making the lives of the people around us better in some way, not saying, "I don't care." all the time, or "He has his opinion, I have mine.". We do have to have values, and these values are what create hypocrisy. Going the other direction we get theologically based vehemence, and single-minded views, which I believe is destructive.

This idea vindicates no one. My suggestion, to everyone, as I begin to think about this idea more is keep your point of view and your ego limited to necessity. I know this is vague, after all, everyone has a different perception of necessity. Basically, have values, but don't become so comfortable with your values that you forget you have a lot to learn, for when this happens you stop growing intellectually, and your ego begins to become grotesquely deformed. Don't let this happen. Control your essence.
